Second Hand Prams
Looking for good information about secondhand
prams? Then you have come the the right place!
Second hand prams can offer a lot of value at a substantial savings. The only trouble is that you must be sure
that the pram is in good working order. Unless you are getting it so cheap that it is worth taking a risk that the
pram might be worthless, look it over carefully before you buy.
The first most important thing to evaluate in second hand prams is the basic structure. Look for any bent metal
pieces or broken plastic ones. Watch out for rust and pitting in the metal. Make sure any metal ribs are straight
and unbroken. Run the pram across the floor to check the operation of the wheels. Then, get down and look at the
wheels up close to notice any structural weaknesses.
Second most important is the fabric part of the pram. Look for seams that have come unthreaded. Be alert to any
stains on the seat or sunshade. Notice how much the sunshade is faded. Look at the padding and feel it to make sure
it is still soft and thick enough. If the pram has compartments, look at them carefully to make sure the bottoms
have not ripped out. Turn them inside out, or if you cannot do that, at least feel down inside them, to make sure
there is not some old food residue left inside. It can be a nasty job, but it is better to find out before you buy
than after.
Once you have thoroughly checked out second hand prams, you will know whether you want to spring for a new one
or stick with a used one.
